The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways. The point, however, is to change it.
There are the two things going to kill humanity:
stupidity and arrogance.
Inside China, the major problems include the vast amount of stupidity that is continuously poisoning the society.
The solution for this is a free knowledge platform and improvement of education.
Other than this, Chinese like to humble themselves, but this has gone excessively wrong. Many people today don’t put prize on their heads, rather than denying the fact the work is done by themselves.
My personal experience is this. I’ve seen many people, when they have achieved something on their own, and later they get praised, they would push away the praise and say what is done is nothing related to them. It’s strange and bizarre to see them say this whilst the work is done by their own entirely.
There’s a limit for humbleness, we would understand what is actually humbleness: when you have done something exceptional with a team, and you have been praised, then you say this is the work of the team.
This, is humbleness. Humbleness is always revolved around facts and truths. Because the team, did help you achieve the achievement. We all can understand that it’s you and the team who worked out very well and struck the prize.
But if you’re denying, the fact that it’s you or your team who have done the work simply because you want to act humble, then you’re dead strange and I even see this as arrogant. It doesn’t make sense, if the team does have done something, why are you denying it?
I see people fail to act humble say this, “It’s not me, I didn’t do it. Really, it’s not me, I didn’t do it.” It’s just pure strange when it comes to something is done by this man solely. And arrogant and cheesy because you want to act humble when everyone is praising you. But inside of this man’s acting, he’s actually feeling pretty swell that people are complimenting him. Fake humbleness is arrogance, you actually feeling well but you are just trying to produce an image that Chinese acknowledged traditionally, but you one hand, failed to understand the image, the other hand, using it to attract attentions.
This, might as well included in stupidity. But of course we know that it’s not that simple and not on a literal sense.
Our society is confused between confidence and arrogance.
When everything starts to simplify, confidence has become a mere acknowledgement of thinking highly of yourself.
This is poisonous. This blocks one from really understanding oneself, thus boost said one’s ego.
The core part in between confidence and arrogance, is security, emotional safety.
Confident people have security, arrogant people don’t. They feel unsafe.
The reason why it makes them arrogant, because they don’t have enough resources to make them confident.
For example: If you have a project, if you know every single detail of it, when people are asking about it and criticizing about it, you won’t feel anything, because you know what’s going on and what is not.
But if you don’t know, then comes the problem, you will be bluffing, you will be overreacting – To make up a scenario that everything looks just fine, and you’re fine either.
Arrogance is a very blatant lack of confidence, and overcompensation is a very common tool for the insecure.
I don’t like arrogant people, they are poisonous to the very essence of myself.
Arrogant people fail, and they have failed so many times since the start of civilization. That’s why it’s listed as one of human’s seven sins.
The negative version of pride (Latin, superbia) is considered, on almost every list, the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins: the perversion of the faculties that make humans more like God—dignity and holiness. It is also thought to be the source of the other capital sins. Also known as hubris (from ancient Greekὕβρις), or futility, it is identified as dangerously corrupt selfishness, the putting of one’s own desires, urges, wants, and whims before the welfare of people.
I think, other than listing how arrogance is going to poison oneself, the bigger damage is probably the arrogance radiating towards surrounding people.
One kind of arrogance is to keep it to oneself, the other kind is the arrogance is strong enough to hurt and damage surrounding things.
Either way, this arrogance is going to kill humanity whoever possesses it, and most of all, people wouldn’t like it.
